Here I sit waiting for a forever home. I lost my way and was brought to the shelter as a stray so I guess you could say I was homeless. I like people and hope someone will like me in return because I want to “go home.” I am two years old and neutered. I will try to be the best dog I can be if you are willing to take me in. I watch as people walk by my cage and hope someone will stop but so far that hasn’t happened. Just because I am a Coonhound doesn’t mean I can’t be your pet. Maybe everybody thinks I am only good for hunting because I am a Coonhound. I can love you and be a best friend like any other dog so won’t you please give me a chance? I am not quite a year old and I don’t want to grow up in the shelter. I have never had a family but desperately want one because then I will belong. I am neutered and litter trained. I don’t mind other cats and dogs are okay too if they are nice to me. Please don’t make me wait any longer to be part of a family. I try to be patient but it gets more difficult everyday. Everybody here is nice to me but I am not their cat, I don’t belong to them. I really really really want someone to be my own person. We will have so much fun together if you just take me home TODAY!

THANK YOU MOSHOLDER INSURANCE!!
Lebanon Valley Insurance Company from Cleona, PA has a "charitable donations fund". This year they allowed their top agents to pick the charity of their choice to accept the donation. Mosholder Insurance Agency chose the Humane Society of Somerset County as their charity of choice. A check in the amount of $840 was donated to the Humane Society of Somerset County. In the picture is George Koutsouflakis from Lebanon Valley Insurance Company, Alisa Murphy from Mosholder Insurance Agency, David Mayhugh from the the Humane Society of Somerset County, and Freckles (who has since be adopted). Thank you!!

HOME NEEDED FOR HORSE!!

I am Comet and I am the curious, fun-loving one! I am an appaloosa filly approximately 7 months old. I went through a lot with my mare who had a life-threatening injury, so I got quite used to getting on and off trailers and being moved around. Because of this, I am very brave and easy to handle. I lead well, stand for the farrier, and love to be hugged! I load, tie, and have even allowed that vet lady to stick needles in me for my vaccinations without a fuss. My foster home has a little girl and when she comes into the field, I go straight up to her for kisses and rubs. I will probably stay a pony as my mare was only about 14.2 hands and I am very short and compact. I have a few white spots on my rump but otherwise I am a solid chestnut color. My forever home has someone with training experience because even though I am easy to handle now, I am going to get bigger and I need someone to teach me everything I need to know to be your lifelong trail companion or gaming pony! Please just don’t let me end up in a bad situation like my mom was in...only ask about me if you plan to train me and keep me forever!

In partnership with Purina® Pets for People™ we are happy to offer a Purina® Pets for Seniors discount program to qualified seniors, sixty years of age and older.

The Pets for Seniors program helps to cover the cost of adoption fees and provides product information‚ coupons‚ and a pet care booklet. Why? Studies have shown that pet companionship may actually help improve senior citizen health and outlook on life.

Find out more by visiting the Purina® Pets for Seniors website or by calling our shelter.

Bella is good with cats and with children, but is afraid of other dogs. She has a special angel who has paid her adoption fee so she just needs someone to come to the shelter to get her! Please don't make her wait any longer!
